Frances D. Kemp of Riverside, NJ, lovingly known as Doris was born September 3, 1924 in East Riverton, NJ, to the late Robert and Hattie (Nee) Claiborne Turner. She passed from this life to her eternal reward on July 1, 2010. Doris was the last of the 9 Turner siblings. Doris was 85 years old. As a child, Doris was reared in the Saint Paul Baptist Church in East Riverton, NJ at a young age. The Turner family was very active in the church and Doris attended faithfully as a child. Doris attended the Westfield#4 elementary school in Cinnaminson, NJ and Palmyra high school and graduated in 1942. Doris was a bright student, along with her shy and kind demeanor, she was well liked by fellow students and teachers. In 1952 Doris was united in holy matrimony to the late Wilton Kemp of Riverside, NJ. God blessed their union with 2 children, Devin and DeNise. Around 1955 Doris and Wilton together joined First Baptist Church in Riverside, NJ. In 1968 they became some of the founding members of Saints Memorial Community Curch in Willingboro, NJ led by founding Pastor, Rev. Norman H. Davis. Doris as a shy woman with a kind and loving heart. Folks that knew her or that just met her felt her soft spirit which showed through her love for family and friends. Everyone always looked forward to Doris's fried chicken every Sunday after church and you would always see Rev. Davis, family and friends stopping by her home for some. Doris was employed as a domestic worker and was known as one of the best house cleaners around. Doris chose her own work schedules to accommodate her family's needs and made sure that family always came first. Doris was truly a remarkable woman. She was shy and gentle yet protective of her family and friends. Doris was a great wife, mother, sister and friend to all who knew her. She always encouraged folks to do what you can for othersand know that God would see you through it. She truly was the wind beneath our wings. Mother Doris will truly be missed. Doris leaves to cherish her memories, a son and daughter, Devin and DeNise step daughter Elaine (Teddy) Edmonds, stepson Pete Reed, grandsons, Clinton (Kierstan) Lott, Marcellus (Victoria) Lott, Dominique Yuma's, Troy Kemp, granddaughters Mimi Mencer, Delishia Kemp, 15 great grandchildren, sister-in-laws, Ina Turner and Dorothy Tumer, a brother-in-law, Jack Kemp and a host of wonderful relatives and friends. Doris was known for her fried chicken which she loved to cook for her family.
