There will never be enough words to sum up my friend Charnay. She was funny, caring, kind, loving and a great friend to have. If you knew her, you should consider yourself lucky, because she was the person you could be your true self around. I could be the
real me and never feel judged.
I met Charnay when I was 13, she lived behind my house, and I hers. She was my “meet you halfway friend.” We spent almost every day together. We ran the streets of Mt Laurel. Well, really, just up and down Larchmont Blvd. We used to get dropped off at the mall by our parents. When her dad would pick us up, we would hide in the back seat, because she hated the car he drove but we never told him. We would laugh so hard because he had no idea. Anyone that knows Charnay, knows how much she hated to drive. So, since my car was so ugly and embarrassing, she would always let me drive hers wherever we went. One time Erik let us take his truck for the day. We thought we were so cool. We just drove all around listening to music. I was on facebook a few
weeks ago and saw one for sale, I sent it to Charnay with a caption that read “We thought we were the bees knees,” her response was “hahahaha right!!!!!!!!” For those that don't know what he drove, it was a purple pathfinder. Once we graduated high school, her parents moved to a new house. We would make jokes until this day, that they hit the lottery because of how nice the house is and all of the new things they bought for it. Once we grew older, we always kept in touch. She was there for my wedding, the birth of my daughter, my good times, my bad times, and everything in between. And I was for her. No matter how much time would pass between us, we always picked up where we left off. This past Christmas Eve, I was lucky enough to spend time with her. I picked her up from her parents house and brought her back mine. My mom was cooking in the kitchen while we sat, eating, laughing and reminiscing looking at old pictures. That day was the perfect day. It felt just like we were 13 again. Now it is a day I will be forever grateful for. Charnay is my forever friend and a
beautiful soul that will never be forgotten.
