Obituary of Cecil Bonds

Bonds, Reverend Cecil Jr., age 58, of Avenel and Riverton, NJ, made his transition on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at the Capital Health Systems, Trenton, New Jersey. Rev. Bonds was born in Newark and lived in Avenel for 15 years. He was the pastor of Mt. Zion AME Church of Riverton, NJ serving for the past three years. Reverend Cecil Bonds was the beloved husband of Reverend E. Jean Bonds; the loving father of Cecil Bonds III and Lamont Bonds; stepfather of Edward R. Brewer and Kelly Brewer; dear brother of Marlene Bonds-Davis, Adrienne Bonds, Keith Bonds Sr. and Glenn Bonds. He is also survived by four grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at the St. James AME Church, 588 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, Newark, NJ. Rev. Dr. William D. watley was the eulogist. A Memorial Worship Service Celebrating the Life, Ministry and Birthday of the late Reverend Cecil Bonds Jr. will be held 1:00pm Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Mt. Zion AME Church, 300 Penn Street. Riverton, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Reverend Cecil Bonds Jr. may be made to Mt. Zion AME Church of Riverton.
