My daddy,
I remember my dad working around the clock to get the Church ready for Pastor Idella Drummond. My daddy worked at building a pulpit in the Church from Sunrise to sunset and beyond. I wasn't able to help the way that I should have. I didn't realize then how important it was. Numerous times I saw my dad work tirelessly, and not receive the compensation he was deserving of, but my dad didn't complain. My dad was a master of all trades, he built several houses from the ground up. My daddy could sing, and had the vocal ability that was as rhapsy as James Cleveland, and as smooth as Sam Cooke. He served as a deacon, and then as a preacher who praised God with all his heart. My memories of my daddy driving his family on long road trips, and enjoying historic places like Cow town, and just enjoying the scenery out on those long country roads. He supported my ministry, and encouraged me with my endeavor to Keep The Dream Alive! My best memory of my daddy is how he loved my Mommy. He never raised his hand against her, and he loved her until the day he transitioned, and wouldn't even do that until she reassured him that she would be alright. My daddy fought the death Angel twice that I was present to see, and he won both times. My daddy is not dead, because a man as strong as he is cannot die. He is just resting, until that great gettin up morning.
