Obituary of Andrew J. Moore, Sr.
Andrew Jackson Moore, Sr. was born on July 29, 1929 to the Late Pearl Gantt and Granderson Moore in Hazelhurst, Georgia. He was the 6th of 7 children; all proceeded him in death.
Andrew was Educated in the Georgia school system, and then he enlisted in the U.S. Army.
Andrew met the love of his life and married Rosalie Butler on April 25,1953. From this union they had two sons, Andrew Jr. and Glenn (deceased).
As a child Andrew attended church at Free Will Baptist Church in Georgia. After moving North he joined Calvary Bible Tabernacle where he became a Deacon and a dedicated member. Very rarely would Deacon Moore miss a service on Sunday, even having to travel close to twenty miles.
Andrew, nicknamed "AJ", loved working as a carpenter and enjoyed listening to people. His favorite saying was ”Don’t say nothing”. He loved everyone, he would especially talk about his niece Geraldine Loveland. He loved talking about The goodness of the lord. He also enjoyed working and caring for Seniors.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife Rosalie Moore ,sons Andrew Jr., Clarence Moore, Glenn (deceased); foster daughter Wynette "Tiny"; .daughter-in-law Natalie Traylor; son-in-law Daron Traylor. Also, seven grandchildren, three great grands, one great-great and a host of nephews and nieces, cousins, and friends. A special Buddy, John McFerson.
