Obituary of Josephine W Woods

Very peacefully on Sunday, May 20, 2018 at Cooper Hospital. Almighty God in His infinite wisdom softly closed the eyes of our beloved Josephine “Josie”, “Mom Josie” Woods and she entered her eternal rest.

Josie was born July 26, 1943, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was the first of two children of the late Hazel Witcher Weir and Joseph Weir. From this union, Josie had one brother, the late Franklin Weir.

Josie attended the Philadelphia public school system.

At the age of 23, she was united in holy matrimony to the late Roscoe Randolph Woods, Jr. From this union one child was born, LaSawn Woods.

For many years she worked as a health care provider. After retiring, she spent her time crocheting, working in the church day care, and babysitting her babies. Jose was a loving and patient woman devoted to ministering and caring for her family and friends. She was loved and admired by those who knew her, because of her warm spirit, and for her bright smile for everyone.

She leaves to cherish her memory: a daughter, LaSawn Woods of Sicklerville, NJ; a granddaughter, Gabrielle Woods of Sicklerville, NJ; three nieces, Janeen Russell-Sinclair (Troy) of Arizona, Tina Robinson (Calvin) of Delaware, Megan Woods of Sicklerville, NJ  and a nephew, Harold Russell (Sheena) of Delaware; great nieces, Asia Terry, Natalie Russell and Jayla Russell of Delaware and great nephews, Eddie Russell of Arizona and Rodney Ganges of New Jersey and a host of family and friends.
