Obituary of Anita C. Robinson
Anita Robinson, also known as "Doll" to many was born to the late Clarence & Bealuh Turner on January 2, 1955 in Wilmington, Delaware. She was the youngest of two children. Her mother passed when she was just 5 years old and her grandparents Matt & Lulu Davis raised her along with her father Clarence Sr. She excelled academically through the Wilmington school system and graduated with honors in 1973. She attended Delaware State and later therafter relocated to Philadelphia, PA.
She gave birth to her oldest son Larry in 1977. "Doll" had many jobs in Philly and during her time as a bank teller she met her then husband E. Robinson and they moved to Chesilhurst, NJ in 1986. It was from this union that they had two children Brendon and Allysa Robinson. Around the same time Anita began to care for her oldest son, Larry's best friend Christopher, who she raised as her own from the time he was 11 years old.
Anita was known for being the neighborhood mom who's spirit coud light up a room. Her brash and stright-forward attitude is what made her who she was. She didn't hold any punches and she'd never hesitated to tell you exactly what was on her mind. Anita would give a stranger the coat off her back and feed her worst enemy. But if she's feeding you, you better finish your plate and you better not "waste her money". Anita's spirit was felt wherever she frequent, and folks would graviate to her voice alone. She loved to entertain, was a self-proclamied homebody, but made sure she made it to Bingo every Tuesday.
It was in 1987, she started her long term career of caretaker of special needs adults through the state of NJ. She did this until her health no longer premitted her to do so. Anyone who knew Anita knows that while she was very "outspoken" and "direct", she would do anything for anybody. She was funny, loving and as she would say "always a mother". She will be truly missed by ALL.
She is survived by her only brother Salah; three sons Larry, Brendon, and Christopher; only daughter Allysa; 8 grandchildren Keenan, Brielle, Ian, Quinton, Laila, Jalen, Brycen and Peyton; and a host of family and friends.
Anita willl always be remembered for her acts of kindness and her devotion to her children, grandchildren and community. She was a true giver and there will never be another Anita Robinson.
Mom, we love you and will forever miss you.
