Obituary of Linda Celeste Ervin

Linda Celeste Ervin, age 69 of Atco, New Jersey, entered eternal rest on Friday, October 2, 2015. She was the daughter of William Edward McMillan Sr. and Murriell Celestine Nicholas. She was born in Chester, PA on August 26, 1946 and was educated in the public schools of Philadelphia, PA and graduated from William Penn High School. Afterwards, she attended the Community College of Philadelphia where she obtained an Associate’s Degree in early childhood development. For a number of years she worked as a preschool teacher for the Philadelphia School board. Later, she had worked as a youth and social worker for various counties and state facilities for the State of New Jersey. She was a dedicated member of Christ Care Unit Missionary Baptist Church and Cathedral. She was a member of the choir and loved to sing for the Lord. She was very active in the community. She was a volunteer for the Boys Club of America and the Camden County Polls. Linda was preceded in death by her parents William E. McMillan, Sr. and Murriel C. Nicholas; and her brother, William E. McMillan, Jr. She leaves to cherish fond memories of her life, her loving husband, Shade Ervin III; three daughters, Jalinda Nichols, Adania Ervin and Earletta Ervin; one son-in-law, Paul Nichols; two sisters, Dorthy Mays of New Castle, DE and Joanna Turner of Philadelphia, PA; one brother David McMillan of Bristol, PA; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
