I was just telling my daughter about my high school days and Lamont was brought up. He was one of the nicest people I remember from my days at PHS. It brought tears to my eyes when I saw his obituary. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. He was a true gentleman and follower of the lord even when he was only a young man. I am sorry for your families loss.

Lamont and I worked together at Garden State until I retired in October 2002. He was a great officer, I'm glad to know that he made Lieutenant, he deserved it. Today, when I heard about his passing it really sadden me, he always had a smile on his face. I'll always remember him, he was a real professional law enforcement officer. May GOD bless him, you his family and all of his friends.
Sincerely

I read the obituary about the loss of your loved one and I extend
my sincere condolences. At this time you are feeling an unbearable
pain, and experiencing a great loss. Psalms 46:1 says, “God is our
refuge and strength, a help that is readily found in times of distress.”
He lovingly cares for you and does not want you to handle this time
alone and he wants you to pray to him. (1Peter 5:7)
He will help you get through this difficult time. (Isaiah 41:10)
I hope this brief Bible message has brought you a measure of comfort
in this difficult time.

Lamont was a great friend, when I transferred to Yardville prison in 1992 he was one of the first people that welcomed me to the prison, we quickly became friends and competitors on the basketball court and talking trash during football season (I'm a Cowboy's fan). I will always be proud of my friend and brother for his courage and strength during his time of illness. My life was and is better for knowing Lamont. Heaven is gaining a man that I am sure God has seen as worthy in his kingdom. I pray that God will give your family peace and comfort. I will miss my brother in Blue and Lamont as a good person. I am sad for his passing but I am also encouraged to know that he was a child of God and his life was not in vain...

My prayers go out to all of the Benson Family and friends. I had the pleasure of getting hired with Lamont back in 1990. Little did i know that when they called his name on our first day that he was the same kid i chased around in football. Back in the Mid to late 70's. while playing for Florence pop warner, i or nobody for that matter could get their hands on Lamont. He'd run around the outside in those Oakland Raider uniforms scoring touchtown after touchdown! He was a GREAT person!! I loved talking with him, and playing basketball on sunday nights back in the day. I will miss him so much.. LUV U Lamont...

May you be comforted by God’s loving promise to be reunited together again in the future Paradise. God knows your pain and the many tears that you cry. Please be consoled by his loving promise at Acts 24:15. You're in my prayers. (Revelation 21:4, 5)

We little knew that morning that God was calling your name,
In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone.
For part of us went with you, the day God called you home.
You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide,
And though we cannot see you, you are always at our side.
Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same,
But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.
Lamont rest!
Psalm 55:6 "Oh, that I had the wings of a dove! I would fly away and be at rest."
With love
