Obituary of Shawn D. Currie

Shawn D. Currie, age 38, of Erial, was born on January 3, 1972, in Philadelphia, PA. On Sunday, March 7, 2010, Shawn was suddenly taken from his earthly home. Shawn was educated in the New Jersey school system. As a young child, he was very active in sports. He loved playing basketball and listening to his music. Shawn was employed as a laborer with National Fence Company. He loved family and his family loved him. He would often take time out of his day to check on his family. His smile was infectious. It would light up a room. Shawn was known for being a jokester. He was very kind and a loving young man. Shawn was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Lois Hawkins and his uncle, Roy Hawkins. Shawn departed this life to soon. He leaves to mourn and cherish his memory: his faithful and devoted parents, Gene and Shirley Currie; his sons, Shawn Richardson and Caleb Currie; his sister, Crystal Currie; his brother, Gene Currie, Jr. and his wife, Migdalia; his paternal grandmother, Jesse Mae Smith of North Carolina; his uncle, Michael Hawkins; his aunts, Joyce Randolph and her husband, Michael, Mae Frances, Louise Gracie and Toppy, all of North Carolina; his niece and nephews, Nasier, CeCe and Jacques; cousins and other relatives and friends.
