Ezekiel Tomboyeke was born in Pelewahun in the Bo district of Sierra Leone on May 6, 1953 to the late Haja Baindu Tomboyeke and the late Chief A.B. Tomboyeke. He attended the United Methodist Primary School and Proceeded to the Kenema Secondary School (KSS) and obtained his O, Levels in 1974. He decided to come back to Pelewahun to start a business in buying and selling diamonds. When he realized he cannot do this alone and that he needed a committed partner he married Alice and they have five beautiful children. When the rebel was struck in 1991 which left Sierra Leone devastated, Ezekiel left Sierra Leone for neighboring Guinea as a refugee in 1998. On August 2, 1999, through the United Nations High Commission for Refugees, Ezekiel was repatriated to the United States. On arrival to the States, Ezekiel lived with his brother, Alhaji Alieu Mustapha in Chesilhurst, New Jersey for a year and a half. He did a course as a Psy-Technician at Ancora Psychiatric Hospital and was subsequently hired. For a year he worked as a Psy-Technician at Ancora Hospital. In 2003, he left New Jersey for California in search of better job opportunities. While in California, he got a job as a Psy-Technician in one of the Psychiatric hospitals in Vallejo Sacramento. He spent ten years working at this hospital. When the economy of California went bad, de decided to come back to New Jersey in April 2012 to live again with his brother Alhaji Alieu Mustapha. Rose Mustapha, wife of Alhaji Alieu Mustapha, helped him secure a job as CSC Postal Services in Berlin, New Jersey in late April 2012 until he met his untimely death on Saturday, March 16th. Brothers include Alhaji Alieu Mustapha in New Jersey, Idrisa Tomboyeke in Maryland, Mohamed Kallon in Philadelphia, PA, Ibrahin Aruna in Maryland and Alpha Koroma in New York. Uncles include Stephen Lahai of Maryland, David Maurana of New Jersey, Sulaiman Mustapha of Maryland and Alhaji Tahiru Fofanah of Camden, New Jersey. Cousins include Fatmata Koroma Kebbie of Jersey City and Sediatu of Jersey City, New Jersey. Other relatives include the Turay family of Bo, the Kebbie family and the Daboh families. Ezekiel is survived by his wife Alice Tomboyeke and five children, Ezekiel Jr., Baidu, Sediatu Abdul and Jusu. His family, friends and the entire community will miss him. May his soul rest in peace.
