Obituary of Joseph L. Freeman
Joseph Leroy Freeman was born in Camden, New Jersey. He was the son of the late Charles and Virginia Freeman and was the 4th of 7 children. He was born on March 21, 1950 and entered into eternal rest on October 22, 2024.
Joseph received his education through the Berlin, New Jersey and Camden, New Jersey school systems and graduated from Camden High School. After graduating from high school, Joseph enlisted in the Air National Guard of New Jersey and as a Reserve of the Air Force.
Joseph chose a career as a Police Officer with the Camden City Police Department and rose to the rank of Lieutenant. He faithfully served his community.
Joseph met Sandra Young in High School. They married in August 1972, and in that union God blessed them with a daughter and two grandchildren. Joseph was raised in the Church and enjoyed bible study. Joseph believed that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He enjoyed traveling especially taking yearly trips to St. Martin and also visited several countries in Africa.

Dad - How fortunate I am to have had you in my life. Your love was unwavering. Whenever I was unsure in life, talking to you would always give me all the confidence and courage I needed. You were and will always be my hero. I love you now and forever.

Joseph is survived by: his daughter Nicole (Daryl) Conner; two grandchildren Troy Henley-Freeman and Leah Conner; one step-daughter Qiana Cooper; two brothers Gary Freeman and Alfred (Denise) Freeman; three sisters Diani Bey, Brenda (Theophalus) Akers, and Barbara (James) Pinkston; one Aunt Vivian (Ponthay) McAllister; one Uncle Arlington (Myra) Jones and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
