Mary Poletha Collier (Burrell), Began Her Life on August 27th, 1947. In River Rouge, Michigan to the Proud Parents of Alfred, Sr and Lena Mae Burrell. Mary Attended River Rouge High School, After Graduating She Furthered Her Studies at Wayne State University in Detroit Michigan. In 1978 Mary Worked as an Information Specialist & Contract Specialist at the Us Department of (Hud) Department of Housing and Urban Development, She Retired In 2015 From Hud After 37 ½ Years of Dedicated Service While Living in Michigan She Was a Diehard Sports Fan of the Detroit Lions, Detroit Tigers, Detroit Pistons, University of Michigan and Michigan State Basketball and Football. Mary Married Her God Sent “Soul Mate’ Leonard Collier, And They Were Married For 12 Years. Mary Was an Active Member of the Sunset Road Church of Christ, Where Bro Chris Turner Is the Minister. When Mary Obeyed the Gospel Back In 1973, She Was Fortunate to Receive the Right Hand of Fellowship from Several Older Sisters, Who Took Her Under Their Wings and Taught Her According to Titus 2:4-8. Mary Began Working And Chairing On Various Committees And Ministeries Such As Bible School Teacher, Of The Sub-teen And Teenager, Coordinator Of The Teenage Girls Youth Ministry, Counselor With The State & National Youth Conferences Ministry, Chairing And Working With The ‘ Wonderful Ladies Of Michigan’ Ministry, Chairing And Working With The Southwestern Dinner Day Planning Committee, Committee Chairman With The State & National Lectureship Planning Committees. Mary Has Coordinated Workshops and Ladies Day Programs Over the Years. (She Was Busy Huh) Mary Also Song with The Voices of Joy at the Westside Church of Christ Until She Had Leave Michigan on a Job Transfer to Oklahoma, She Worked There for a Couple of Years and Had to Transfer to Philadelpha Where She Worked with a Local Church There. In 1990 Mary Started To Sing With The Acapella Choraleers Under The Direction Of Gerald Mcclain, This Is Where She Met Her Best Friend, Sister In Christ, Daughter, And Sister (That’s How She Introduced Her) Sharon Briscoe They Met And Became Inseparable That Day All Thru The Years Of Traveling, Singing Together, You Name It They Did It Friends For 34 Years. . Mary Believed That You Are Never Too Old to Be an Active Worker for the Lord, and That Those That Are ‘Spiritually Strong’ Must Do All Within Their Power and Leave the Rest to God to Be the Saints in Acts 2:42-47 Mary Was Presently Studying and Taking Theology Classes with Dr Kenneth Gilmore of Dallas Texas. Mary Is Survived by Her Loving Husband of 12 Years, Leonard Collier: Sister Juanita Cooper of Chicago Illinois. Their Daughter Keinya Collier-Mitchell (Keith Mitchell), Special Friend (Daughter) Sharon Briscoe, Goddaughter Ebony Briscoe. Special Cousins. Leroy & Bessie Fields, Ronald Jones. Nieces: Valencia, Abby, Robbie, Monica, Alicia, Nephews Orlando, Robert Lee, Robert Cortez, & Antonio, Mary Was Preceded in Death by Her Two Parents, Alfred Sr & Lena Mae; 4 Brothers; George, Alfred Fr, James, And Lafayette; Sisters Karlyn, Barbara, Phillis, Jessie and Alfreda. Many Other Great Neice's and Nephews and Relatives.
