Obituary
Obituary of Bobby Davis
Please share a memory of Bobby to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Bobby Davis was born on May 6, 1942, to the late Will and Thelma Davis. He was born in Marion, South Carolina and was one of Twelve Children.
The Family moved to Philadelphia in the early fifties. Bobby continued his education within the public school system, until he became employed at Jefferson Hospital, where he worked for a short period of time. This was due to the fact that he decided to pursue a career for what he had a passion for, which was using his hands to build things. He became employed with a company named Anastasia Brothers Construction Company. He started as an assistant to the brick layer. Although he learned every position of the job, he really excelled at being a brick layer and became the best brick layer the company had. He spent twenty-five years with the company until he was forced to retire early due to an on-the-job-injury.
Bobby became a father at the age of twenty-two to his oldest daughter Tangela. Shortly after he met the love of his life Classel Davis whom he married and out of this union two children were born, his daughter Carol and son Robert. Bobby and Classel spent many many wonderful years together until he closed his eyes for eternity.
Bobby spent his early retirement years enjoying himself by watching old western movies, wrestling and the series charmed. His favorite things to do were fishing and enjoying a cold beer or drink. He was known to always lend a helping hand when needed, especially if it involved building or putting something together. He loved joking and playing around and always had a slick comeback as a response to something that was said to him. If you had the opportunity to sit and listen to some of his stories, he would tell you that he was a Blackfoot Indian and would reference his hair as proof. When we would ask what tribe, he would say the Blackfoot tribe and then say what kind of question is that. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and reminiscing about the old days and debating. He was loved and enjoyed by many.
Bobby was proceeded in death by his father and Mother Will and Thelma Davis, his brother Roosevelt, Edwell, Will Jr., Sidney, David, Buck and Harold, His two sisters Helen and Thelma May.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his devoted wife Classel Davis, his daughter Tangela and son in law to be Bobby, His daughter Carol and son in-law Frank, His son Robert and Daughter in-law Angie, His fourteen grandchildren. Brian "Spankie", Bryheem "Booge", Robert Jr. "Buster", Frank, Theo, Charles "Chucky", Bryon, and Christopher, Classel "Ponnie". Shalice, Crystal, Sanita, Robin and Tangela "Lil Tang" and thirty-seven great grandchildren. His two brothers James Calvin and Warren, His three sister in-laws Sandra, Barbara, and Mattie. A host of nephews and nieces and other family members and friends. Bobby was loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
