Obituary of Leslie R. Venable

Leslie Rand Venable, affectionately called Benny, was the third of six children born on March 30, 1951, in Camden, New Jersey to the late Anita Comegys and Lemuel Venable. He had three brothers Lemuel Venable Jr., Kevin Venable, Larry Venable, two sisters Constance Venable-Carpenter, and Joane Venable-Lowe.
Leslie was educated in the Berlin Elementary School system in Berlin, New Jersey and Camden County Vocational School system in Pennsauken, New Jersey.
Leslie was a faithful member of St. John’s United Methodist located in West Berlin, New Jersey. Leslie loved his church family and served on several different ministries starting with The Fishers of Men, The Great Saturday Fish Fry, Van minister, Sunday morning pick-ups, Summer Camp Day Trips and Tuesday evening Food Bank.
Leslie’s work history consisted of Cross-country Truck Driving, Small Business Office cleaning, Owner of a Soul Food Restaurant and in his spare time he loved cooking and fishing.
Leslie was loved by all, especially by his beloved Linda Moore. Leaving tender memories to his only son Lance R. Culver; his siblings, Lemuel Venable Jr., Constance Venable-Carpenter (Joseph), Kevin Venable (Jackie), Larry Venable (Wendy), Joane Venable-Lowe (James predeceased), Sister- in-law Ann Venable, Nieces, Lesley Ann Dennis (Dwayne), Carmen Bowen (Steve), Latoya Lewis (Ryan), Leah Cole (Herb), Kevonna Venable, Special Nephews, Jovan Lowe, Kevin Venable (Marina), Lemuel Venable III as well as a host of cousins, friends, and special friends Charles Webster and Marvin Hamwright.
On Thursday, June 8, 2023, at 4:55 pm, Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ called Home his child Leslie Rand Venable to eternal peace and rest.
