Obituary of Augustine Dickerson

Augustine Covington Dickerson was born October 21, 1939 to the late James P. Covington and Marie Covington in Camden, New Jersey. Augustine was the tenth child born out of eleven. She attended the Lower Camden County Regional School District. Augustine was a life time member of New St. John C.M.E. Church, where her parents were among the founders. Augustine served on the Usher Board, Pastor's Aide and Senior Choir. Augustine also worked at Mrs. Paul's in Camden, NJ and Forest Hill Elementary School in Camden, NJ as a teacher's aide. Augustine married the love of her life in the early 60's, whom preceded her in death in 2008, Charles E. Dickerson Sr. Augustine was called to Glory on Friday, April 14, 2023 after a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles Dickerson Sr. and her son Kenneth "Sy" Hollimon; four sisters, Dorothy Beeks Ellison, Elizabeth Wanzer, Mildred Collier and Alberta Covington; six brothers, James, John, Clarence, Milton, Orlando and Kenneth. She leaves to cherish her memories her beloved children Kathleen Covington (Robert), Charles Dickerson Jr. (Cynthia), Vincent Dickerson (Tonya) and Barbara Dickerson-Reed (Norman); grandchildren Tanya Richardson, Jamie Farmer, Brentten Dickerson, Janelle Dickerson, Victoria Hodge and Christian Dickerson; great-grandchildren Marcus Dickerson, Harlem Dickerson, Navahna Dickerson, Jedidiah Farmer, Elijah Farmer, Naomi Farmer and Imoye King; sisters-in-law Rose Dickerson, Marie Covington and Anna Covington; brothers-in-law Myrtle Dickerson, Merrill Dickerson and Eugene Ellison. She also leaves behind a host of family, friends and loved ones.
