Obituary of Luke Gregory Woods, Sr.

Luke Gregory Woods Sr. was born on May 9th, 1951, at Cooper Hospital in Camden, NJ to the late William and Sarah Woods. He was the twelfth child of 13, (9 of which preceded him in death). He was the knee baby.
He grew up in East Berlin, NJ where he attended Berlin Township Elementary School and later graduated from Edgewood High school in Winslow Township, NJ. He was on the track team and enjoyed the high jump. In high school, he was affectionately known as, "Cool Hand Luke."
He attended Green Grove Baptist Church.
He joined the Army but was honorably discharged due to injury.
He was employed at Owen's Corner Fiberglass in Berlin, NJ for over 20 years until the factory closed. He was then employed at Sony in Pittman, NJ until retirement.
Gregory was a family man, he loved to play cards and enjoyed fishing with Mann Riley. Gregory also loved to sing and thought he was one of The Whispers as he affectionately sung to his wife, Peachy.
Gregory was also preceded in death by his son, William J. Woods. He leaves to cherish his memory: His loving wife, Mary Woods; three sons, Jaron Carter, Luke G. Woods, Jr and Troy Carter; one daughter, Syrina Carter; six grandchildren; one sister, Ida Mae Pointer (Gerald) of Berlin Township, NJ; two brothers, Elisha Woods of Berlin Township, NJ and Curtis Woods of Lindenwold, NJ; one aunt, Della Woods of Chesilhurst, NJ and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
