Pastor Evelyn E. Booze quietly slept away on Thursday, November 3, 2022, in Randallstown, MD. Pastor Booze was born on July 11, 1947, in Atlantic City to Alice and Carl
Green. She received her formal education in the Atlantic City Public School System. She attended Atlantic Community College and matriculated to Glassboro State College (now Rowan University) where she received her bachelor’s Degree in Political Science.
After 28 years of service as Assistant to City Council Members in Atlantic City. Pastor Booze retired on August 1, 2010. Pastor Booze has received numerous awards and citations from community organizations, churches, and local and state government – all to the glory and honor of serving God and His people. Pastor Booze greatest joy came from serving. In 1988, the Lord entrusted Asbury AME Church in Wildwood, NJ. She faithfully served the people of Asbury for five years. In 1993, Rev. Booze was appointed pastor of New Bethel AME Church, Vineland, NJ. Rev. Booze faithfully served the church along with her beloved husband, William Booze. Church work was her life. Pastor was fond of telling people that she was AME.
Pastor Booze was a proud wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother. She was married to Brother Booze for forty-eight years. She leaves to cherish her memory: Deborah Blount, David (Shonna) Ross, Darlene Ross, Barbara (Johnnie) Palmer; 19 grandchildren, Krystle, Veronica, Ronnie, (predeceased) Rodney, Isaiah, Jamil, Jamal, Brittany, Davonna, Aiyonna, LaToya, Danyelle, Donte, Mia, Mya, Latesha, Denise, Johnnese and Johnnie, Jr.; 29 great-grandchildren (3 predeceased), 4 siblings, Camile Hart, Earl Hart (predeceased), Mariam Preacha and Barbara Harris, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
