Obituary of Thomas M. Johnson
Please share a memory of Thomas to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Our family is deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved brother, Thomas M. Johnson, the man, the myth, the legend, on Friday October 14, 2022 at the age of 59.
Whether you knew him as Tom, Tommy or TJ you knew him as a devoted friend, full of life and always a comedian up until the very end.
He is survived by his brother Ronald Johnson and wife Anne, sister-in-law Patricia Johnson, nieces Shara, Kimberly, Karen, Melissa, Rebecca and Samantha, nephew Stephen and devoted God-daughter Becky. He is also survived by his loving friends Bonnie Jean Rohloff, Paul and Michele Zurzolo and Bill Eisenhardt along with so many others. Predeceased by his brother Mark and David.
Tommy was a volunteer firefighter for the Waterford/Winslow Township Fire Companies for more than 30 years. He devoted his life to helping others including assisting with search-and-rescue at ground-zero after 9/11. He had a love of working with his hands and was a gifted and meticulous carpenter as well as a born salesman. He was a successful salesperson for Tire Corral and even went on to open his own business, Maxximum Tire.
Whether you needed a helping hand, someone to talk to or a shoulder to cry on, Tom was there. He was a free spirit who held a strong belief in God. While not an active member of any church, his faith in God brought him peace, and along with his family, comfort when his time on this earth came to an end.
Please join us in celebration of Tommy's life at Covington Funeral Home in Atco, NJ. Viewing will begin at 10AM, and funeral services will commence at 11AM. He will be interred at Eglington Cemetery in Clarksboro, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Tommy's name can be made to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, Ronald McDonald House or St. Jude's Research Hospital for Children.
