Obituary of Susie Anna Brachew

Susie Anna Brachew of Williamstown, New Jersey departed this life peacefully on January 17, 2022. Born on August 6, 1950, in Norfolk, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Susie Lewis and Ellick Brachew. Susie grew up in Kent Island, Maryland and was educated in the Queen Anne's County school district. In 1975, Susie graduated from Bowie State University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. Susie would go on to serve as an educator for thirty-seven years. Her career in education allowed her to touch the minds of many young people on the lower Eastern Shore of Maryland, in Prince George's County Maryland and lastly in Atlantic County New Jersey. Susie lived her life nurturing and giving of herself unselfishly. Her legacy will live on in the lives that she touched; not only those that benefited from her teachings, but those that experienced her warmth, kindness, concern and love. Susie leaves behind, to cherish fond memories, her four children Brandy (Michael), Lakisha, David and Darrell (Angel); her nine grandchildren Camron, Shemar, Makhi, Destiny, Aniyah, Brynae, Ellyngton, Dezzariah and Darrell Jr.; two sisters Coremae and Mary; a special god-daughter Chimere; a special nephew Clinton Jr. and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Susie was preceeded in death by her parents and her big brother, Willie Jay.
