Obituary of DuQuan William Crandall
Please share a memory of DuQuan to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Duquan William Crandall was born May 4, 1994 in Atlantic City, New Jersey to William Crandall and Angela Ceaser. He departed this life peacefully in his home on July 27, 2020. Duquan attended both Brigantine and Atlantic City school districts and graduated from Atlantic City High School in 2012. As a child and growing teenager, DuQuan participated in football for both the Brigantine Rams and Atlantic City High School Vikings. DuQuan also attended Pennco Tech Trade School with an interest in HVAC.
As a child, DuQuan enjoyed swimming lessons, dining out, playing video games with his brother, traveling, and getting fashion advice from his sister. DuQuan also enjoyed regular trips to the flea market and took pride in looking and smelling good.
As DuQuan transitioned into adulthood, he enjoyed special interest in rapping, cooking, shopping and spending quality time with family and friends. DuQuan was better known by his friends as “ Geech” and “ The Glue” to their friendships.
DuQuan was the quiet and laid back type but you always knew he was in the room. His positive spirit and energy resonated everywhere he went. His vibe, mannerisms, contagious smile, peacekeeping, and intelligence are just a few words to describe his genuine personality. To know him was to love him.
DuQuan's number one and favorite lady was his Mother who he adored. Duquan would snuggle and fall asleep in bed with his mom up until age 11. DuQuan was her baby, youngest of three. He would often catch her off guard with jokes and pranks and his breakfast request before school was his turkey bacon, egg and cheese sandwich to start his day.
DuQuan’s role model in life was his father who he idolized and loved so much. DuQuan was his father's only child. Will exemplified the true meaning of a father. Will motivated, supported and encouraged DuQuan throughout his life. DuQuan admired his father's work ethic and drive for success. Will and DuQuan would often share deep thoughts, laughs, and meaningful conversations for hours at a time. DuQuan was optimistic about he and his father's planned move to Arizona after his father's retirement. DuQuan anticipated the beginning of a new chapter and fresh start.
Sorrowfully, God called DuQuan home and although he is not physically here in the flesh , his spirit lives on forever. Undoubtedly DuQuan and his father share a bond that could never be broken, even in death.
DuQuan is predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Grover Crandall, Sr.; paternal grandmother, Evelyn Crandall; maternal grandmother, Thelma Ceaser; and maternal aunt, Victoria Harvey.
DuQuan leaves to cherish his fond memories: mother, Angela Ceaser; father, William Crandall; one brother, Jalil Ceaser; one sister, Timisha Ceaser; paternal aunts, Niecy and Sue Crandall; paternal uncles, Bryan, Grover Jr and Jay Crandall (Gloria), all of Philadelphia; maternal aunts, Jennifer Ceaser of Camden, Michelle Carpenter of Atlantic City, and Christine Drinkard of Pleasantville; a host of cousins and childhood best friends, Tre, DJ, Malcolm, Johvan, Donta, Keyshawn, Gabe, Zamar, Kayla and Alyssa.
