Obituary of Lillie Mae Harris

Please share a memory of Lillie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Lillie Mae Harris (Fisher) was born on January 31, 1931 in Haddonfield, NJ to the late Lillian B. (Shockley) and Samuel H. Fisher. She attended school in Moorestown, NJ. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Alberta, William, Virginia, Lorenzo, Stanley, Marshall, and Shirley. Lillie met the late Irving W. Harris, Jr at a county fair. They were married on December 29, 1950. From this union, they had nine children - Irving, III, Darlene, JoAnn, Donald (deceased), Barry, Pamela, Ethel, Barbara and William. Lillie sold Avon for over 30 years and received many accolades for her sales. Her first priority, of course, was her family. She always spent time helping her children with their homework or teaching them how to play Gin Rummy or Pinochle. Lillie truly lived up to Proverbs 31, A Virtuous Woman. Lillie attended Trinity A.M.E. Church in Cinnaminson, NJ. She loved the Lord and she loved serving the church. Lillie sang in the Senior Choir, served on the Stewardess Board and the Dining Committee. She enjoyed making flower arrangements and gladly decorated the dining hall of the church whenever her services were needed. Lillie leaves to mourn her children, Irving, III (Edythe), Darlene (Milton), JoAnn (Stephen), Barry (Caterina), Pamela (Michael), Ethel (Thomas), Barbara (Belton), and William (Sharon). Seventeen Grandchildren, eighteen Great Grands, and one Great-great grand. Her brother, Robert Fisher (Barbara), sister-in-law Irene Fisher and Shirley Fisher, brothers-in-law James Harris, William Harris and Leroy Harris (Ursula), a special cousin Elmer Shockley and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and nephews. We loved you so much but God loved you more. He called you home, gave you a white robe and a crown, and told you well done my good and faithful servant. Until we meet again, rest in his arms. Mom we could go in about your wondrous traits and attributes, but we will sum it up by saying, "We thank God for letting was be born to a wonderful Mother like you". Rest now Mom. We know you are at peace now with your Husband and other family members that are in glory. Thru the Grace of God, you have won the battle. While we know that we will miss your presence, you will always live on in our hearts. Our souls are at peace. "WE LOVE YOU MOM" Irving III, Darlene, JoAnn, Barry, Pamela, Ethel, Barbara, William
